WRRAAOOH-KRUMMM! Delacruz tumbles back onto the deck of his flagship, a bit winded. He staggers left and right, rending his hair in mania...

IGOR

Almost thought you were leaving me all of Isla Diamante!

Igor eyes Delacruz...who lurches against the mainmast; he tosses his blade to the floor, a hysterical wreck.

IGOR

...My lord?

Delacruz hides his face in his palms...

DELACRUZ

I tried, tío Igor...

Igor twice-snaps his fingers as an attendant takes the helm. He stoops to the fallen admiral...

IGOR

Son...we’ve yet to fail! I actually thought you looked muy bueno back—

DELACRUZ

The fleet is burning uncle!!

(to himself)

...My fleet is burning...

He rends his hair, hiding his face.

IGOR

Now, child—remain delegable...¿eres un rey o un niño?

DELACRUZ

IT WAS MY DESTINY, IGOR!

He darts a finger at the swirling hurricane beyond...at their doorstep.

Delacruz stumbles to his feet, wandering about the deck in a wistful trance...

DELACRUZ

I was to build an empire...an empire beyond that of my father...one that would make him proud.

IGOR

And you’ve done that, my child! Hijo, if your father could only see what you’ve accomplished...king of Santa Victoria...admiral of its fleet!

DELACRUZ

THAT’S NOT ENOUGH!!

SWWWLLING! Delacruz wills the sword into his hand by a gale of wind—it swoops off of the very floor as Igor stumbles against the wrathful gust.

Delacruz studies his blade; he twiddles the hilt, gazing into a wounded reflection along the sword’s metal frame, amid luminous jade lettering...

DELACRUZ

There is more than one way to obtain Dominion of the Sea...my father believed so himself.

Igor gazes upon his nephew—a fright overshadowing his sympathy...

Delacruz furrows his brow, staring his uncle straight in the eye.

DELACRUZ

...And I’m gonna get it.

BRKGMMMM...a rumble of thunder resounds about the skies...

Igor scans the fearful night vista...he tightens his hat.

KRICKEAAH! As a shred of lightning forks across the entire ship...

DELACRUZ

But first...

He raises his sword...WHHHRRRLLLL...as a ghastly swirl of wind raises him into the air—KRICKMMM-KRCKMMM! Collecting bands of electricity...

DELACRUZ

...A score to settle.

CHVUUUMME!! He blasts outta there, sending a shockwave of wind and stray arcs of lightning all over the craft. Igor is thrusted against the helm, as his hat tosses across the deck.

Crew members all over recover from the blast...

The reluctant quartermaster grabs his hat, stumbling up from the floor.

IGOR

...This one. Never again.

EXT. SANTA VICTORIAN FLEET - CONTINUOUS

Jojo and Baako spiral through the convoy of warships, weaving between their flaming sails...

JOJO

Any sign of him?!

BAAKO

None, Commander!

Jojo double takes—

JOJO

Hmph, Commander ah? ... Got a nice ring to—

BLAAAMM-SCHREEWWW! A lightning-borne silhouette springs upon the cockpit window, emitting a cascade of electricity across the hull of the Alpha One.

JOJO

YE-WOAH! AAAGHH!!

DELACRUZ

WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING MY FLEET?! WHAT FEUD HAS SANTA VICTORIA WITH LARIMAR?!

IN ALPHA ONE

KRCH-POPP! CRICK-A-TAW! Various instruments along the control panel sizzle and burn by the voltage. Arcs of lightning dance inside of the cockpit...

JOJO

AAGH, GET THIS GUY OFF’A ME!

BAAKO

Hold on!

VVRRRM-KRUNCK! Baako swerves his wing into Jojo’s, rams its edge—

KRAAH! Knocking Delacruz off.

The Alpha One smolders, crackling with sparks...

BAAKO

...You okay?

Jojo shakes it off.
